“The Cape.io team were delighted with the outcome of the collaboration with VoiceBox.”

VoiceBox helped make the Six Nations advertising break fully accessible, thanks to the call-up from advert delivery specialist Cape.io (formerly Peach).

For the yearly rugby tournament, Cape.io called on one of its accessibility partners, VoiceBox, to raise the bar of advertising accessibility on Irish TV.

During the ad break of three key Ireland games, VoiceBox provided open captions and audio description (AD). This was on the main broadcast channel, so accessibility was front and centre.

“The Cape.io team were delighted with the outcome of the collaboration with VoiceBox,” said Ella Roche, Global Key Account Director at Cape.io.

“The AD and captioning provided was to an excellent standard and created within a very tight timeframe.”

This isn’t the first time Cape.io and VoiceBox have worked together. VoiceBox help create accessible adverts for some of Cape.io’s global brands.

Ella added: “The VoiceBox team are very efficient and professional, we can always rely on them to do a great job.

“In the case of the Six Nations project, it was important to have everyone working together seamlessly. VoiceBox helped make sure things ran smoothly, allowing for a fully accessible ad break.”

This was part of a bigger effort to make the most accessible Six Nations yet, with Virgin Media Television supplying Irish Sign Language (ISL) and live AD coverage.
