VoiceBox, the Swansea based tech company, has been shortlisted for this year’s South Wales Business Awards
VoiceBox, the Swansea based tech company, has been nominated for this year’s South Wales Business Awards.
After enjoying success at last year’s award ceremony – voted the Technological & Innovative Business of the Year 2016 – the video translation specialists have been shortlisted for the coveted ‘Business Services Business of the year’.
Speaking of the company’s nomination, Sales and Marketing Manager, Ben Dobson, said: “Everyone in the VoiceBox team is thrilled to be recognised by the South Wales Business Awards for the second successive year. Providing a great service, with fantastic customer relationships, is something that we’re passionate about so we couldn’t be happier with being shortlisted.”
Innovation, Innovation, Innovation
Over the past twelve months, VoiceBox have radically overhauled the workflows of their core services – subtitles and voice overs – considerably reducing both the processing time and the end cost to their clients.
Speaking of the company’s efficiency enhancements, Mr. Dobson said: “As a tech company, research and development is in our DNA so wherever we can streamline processes, in this case through simultaneous transcription and subtitle creation, it’s a win for us and a win for our clients.”
Sibling Rivalry
The Business Services Business of the Year category has no fewer than seven shortlisted from some of South Wales’s most renowned companies. However, for VoiceBox co-founder, Anna Bastek, one company in particular stands out from the pack, the internationally acclaimed language service provider – Wolfestone.
As a co-founder and director of the multi-million-pound translation company, which is also shortlisted for the Business of the Decade Award, Miss Bastek is reluctant to give any indication as to which of her companies she would like to see win in their head-to-head award duel.
Speaking after the shortlist had been announced, Miss Bastek said: “It’s a great ‘problem’ to have – having both VoiceBox and Wolfestone recognised for their services. I’m really torn as to which one deserves to win the award more because they have both made massive strides in the last 12 months and I’m genuinely proud of them both. Wolfestone has won dozens of awards over the past 11 years so it would be great for VoiceBox to follow in their footsteps or, if not, overtake them!”
Hosted by WS Marketing, since their 2008 launch, the South Wales Business Awards have become one of Wales’s most recognised business events. In 2016, over 170 business people were in attendance at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge, to enjoy a hugely successful evening.
