Anna Bastek is the latest name to join a star studded line-up of entrepreneurs at Port Talbot’s ‘Surf Force’ tech event.

The inaugural surf-themed tech event aims to boost awareness of the job opportunities in South Wales’ booming tech sector.

Speaking of Miss Bastek’s inclusion to the line up, Shaun Holmes, the event organiser, said: “Anna is, in many ways, the embodiment of everything Surf Force stands for – a tech entrepreneur who’s defied the odds and perpetually evolved to meet the demands of new challenges. And, whilst Anna may not surf, she’s the poster girl for the ‘healthy body – healthy mind’ lifestyle with her IronMan escapades!”

Expressing her affinity with the Surf Force message, Miss Bastek said: “The idea behind Surf Force, to make people aware of the opportunities around them is something I’m proud to support. Though there may be uncertainty across South Wales about what lies ahead, as someone who grew up in communist Poland, I can vouch that ambition and new opportunities are here to be embraced.”

With the recent reports proclaiming Wales as the best location, outside of London, to launch a tech startup, Miss Bastek – herself a tech entrepreneur – has thrown her weight behind this notion: “VoiceBox’s success is living breathing proof that a South Wales workforce can breakthrough the perceived glass ceiling of London’s tech monopoly. Our agency may be based in Swansea but that hasn’t stopped us attracting the likes of Sony and Discovery as clients”.

Surf Force is a free to attend technology event that combines surfing with speeches from tech entrepreneurs. The event is aimed at businesses and job seekers who are looking to find new opportunities in the tech sector.

Surf Force runs from 09:00 – 19:00 this Saturday at the Aberavon Leisure & Fitness Centre. For more information, please visit surfforce.co
